National Indigenous Education Symposium
I was asked by NSCC International if I had time to speak on a student panel about my experience with the Global Skills Opportunity Program and traveling to New Zealand. I didn't know at first that I was the only NSCC student who agreed to do this, so at first; I was very nervous and my mind just blanked.
After they introduced me and two other people had spoke, it was my turn. The second I started telling my story about how I got here, how influential going to New Zealand has been on my life, it was all easy. After this, I started to realize something, my being nervous, even though it's the same response for any public speaking, the second I get up there to say my peace, it's always made a difference, no matter if it's to myself or someone who hears me. This was the second instance when someone came to talk to me afterwards because of something I said that resonated with them and it really is the best feeling.
